Rebecca Schumacher Cox

Rebecca was lucky enough to have taken a class with Mr. George Stuart in Ojai, California in November, 2007.  This was an incredible experience.  If ever you get the chance, take a class with Mr. Stuart.  What a National Treasure this exceptional man is!

His website is here: http://www.galleryhistoricalfigures.com/

I've been pretty lucky and busy of late (as per usual), but was so incredibly inspired by taking Mr. Stuart's class as mentioned above.  There were several other fabulous artists taking the class, with 10 of us being in attendance.

We learned Mr. Stuart's articulated skeleton, and making his pieces step by step, though completely compressed into a one week session.  I truly would love to spend a minimum of one month creating a piece alongside Mr. Stuart.  He is a master in so many ways; a purist.

I have a new website in progress with another product of mine soon to come.  I'll let you all know when I update it, but as for now it's http://www.rockgoblins.com

Well, below are some older pictures of Ed and myself and some friends.  I'll work to get some updated image up soon.  I also have at least a dozen or more drawings to scan in, and several sculptures to finalize and a few older ones to update.

If you're interested in commissions, please let me know so that I can review the request and ensure it's something I have the time and/or desire to work on.  The more lead time the better!  I love creating historical pieces, like Shamans, or warriors.

Here is Rebecca with Ed Cox, at ChiCon 2001 with fabulous artist Lubov in front of her beautiful painting, her husband Scott, and  friend and owner of Griffin's Grove, Rod Bennecke.   Rebecca with Ed Cox and Don Maitz of Captain Morgan's Rum fame at DragonCon 2003.  Last, Rebecca and Ed at Norwescon 2005.

Rebecca sculpts mainly in a two part ambient set direct sculpt epoxy resin, Aves Apoxie Sculpt.

All pieces at this point are one of a kind, original works, there being no other in the world like them.
